It concludes this Friday university forum in Cuba
Havana, February 15 - Those almost four thousand participants in the VI Congress University 2008 conclude this Friday in Cuba five days of sessions in those that pled for the integration between the superior education and the societies.
Before being run the curtains of the forum that is carried out at Conventions Palace, the delegates of 50 countries will analyze the ways for a bigger internationalization of that teaching in the region.
Equally they will approach the function of the computer new technologies in the formation of human resources and their incidence in the cooperation between universities and nations.
During a panel of education ministers, the Superior Education’s of Venezuela, Luis Coins, he called the eve to strengthen the preparation of the students as defenders of the interests of their towns.
It is necessary that the universities transform into ramparts of the revolutions in the area, Acuña exposed in allusion to the changes processes in Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
In a special conference, the boss of International Relationships Department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Cuba, Fernando Remírez de Estenoz, he delineated the priorities of the foreign policy of the Island.
The fight for the Latin American unit, against the American hostility and for the liberation of five Cuban United antiterrorists they are counted among the main tasks, Remírez de Estenoz specified.
Universalization Cuban Programs transcends frontiers
The Cuban project of universalization of the higher education has transcended the national frontiers and today it is applied with success in other countries, especially in Venezuela, where micro universities already exists in the 355 municipalities of that nation.
These experiences centered the interventions and debates in a round table on the cooperation for the integration of the Superior Education, in the context of the 6to. International Congress University 2008.
Superior Education Ministers, as well as university and scientific authorities of Venezuela, Suriname, Yemen, Iran, Congo, Angola, Nicaragua, Argentina and Cuba united in the round table, where there were stood out the importance of universalizing the access to the superior education and they put on examples of their implementation in these nations.
One of the debated points was how to concert common strategies for the authentication of titles among the countries, something slope in the Superior Education integration project that Cuba impels, with thousands foreign students, but also Venezuela that foresees to form in next years to thousands doctors in its Latin American School of Medicine, where 498 students of 14 countries already study.
The lack of mechanisms in some cases, the little understanding on this matter, but also the resistance of private interests linked to universities and professional sectors, they could block that some graduate ones exercised what they studied in the context of the collaboration projects, the panelists noticed.
In this respect, the holder of Superior Education of Venezuela, Luis Acuña Cedeño, he explained that this situation is complex, because the formation agreements are not signed alone with governments, but even with social movements.
In that sense he put as example that in his country agricultural engineers of nations sisters are also being formed as Brazil, thanks to the signature of an agreement with the Movement Sin Tierra, by means of which were created the Agroecological Institute Paulo Freire, with a current registration of 183 youths of 13 countries.
